JASON M. P. BERNABEI : CHIEF EXECUTIVE OFFICER, REALTOR® DEPARTMENT OF REAL ESTATE AGENT ID # 01833085
Jason Miles Phillip Bernabei grew up in North Central Illinois, an hour south of the Chicago suburbs. He graduated high school from academically heralded St. Bede Academy (1993). After graduation, he attended Illinois Valley Community College, where he earned an A.A. with an emphasis in History (1995). He then went on to Illinois State University where he completed a B.A. in English Literature (1998). He completed his formal university education at Florida Atlantic University (2003), where he earned an M.A. in English Literature, graduating cum laude, maintaining an ‘A’ average over his final 30 hours of coursework, and was there awarded publication of his Master’s thesis. In the spring of 2003, Mr. Bernabei relocated to San Diego in pursuit of a Ph.D. from UCSD. While working towards that goal during those initial months in town, he discovered that he was developing a growing passion for his new day job, junior loan officer at a local brokerage. By summer’s end, he had made up his mind to invest himself wholly into the mortgage industry, and so traded in the long nights of his Academic pursuits for even longer nights of researching all things mortgage and real estate-related in San Diego County. With this new commitment, he was soon promoted and before long he…
“Before long I was operating independently as a full-fledged loan officer, originating, qualifying, and guiding clients through the process of ascertaining purchase and refinance loans! My experiences as a loan officer afforded me a window into the world of real estate, and I realized that I wanted to learn everything I could about it! The dedication and discipline required in accomplishing my Master’s Degree was paying off in spades as I sunk my teeth into this new challenge. My thirst for research and new knowledge had locked into something completely different than my previous academic pursuits. I traded in nights spent reading the likes of Tolkien and Hemingway for nights researching the likes of “Mello” and “Roos.” Soon enough I had signed up for, studied, and passed the Department of Real Estate’s Salesperson’s exams, and thus obtained my Real Estate license. I remember the zest and zeal I had felt in first learning the various nuances of the industry. I had a rapidly expanding client-book of satisfied mortgage loan borrowers, and began working the real estate side of things as well. With more and more referrals coming over several successful years, I set my sights on going into business for myself.
In 2008, I incepted “TriCastle Realty,” and in doing so brought together a multitude of dedicated and trusted real estate and mortgage professionals to execute my vision for the company: to serve San Diegans in a full-service real estate capacity, with second-to-none customer satisfaction at an absolute premium! Despite the challenges of a difficult, down market; since inception in late 2008, TriCastle Realty has since gone on to close 35 real estate transactions and list 25 properties!
In addition to real estate and mortgage expertise, my individual skill-set and resume speaks to clients who have white-collar needs such as debt settlement and credit restoration. I have been contracted as a consultant in and around these fields in San Diego over the past few years, have served as Director of Customer Satisfaction for a local law firm, and also as Executive Hiring Manager for that same firm. I have demonstrated the capability of helping San Diegans achieve their real estate, mortgage, credit restoration, and debt settlement needs, and for some clients, all of the above was applicable in order to meet their goals! If this sounds like you, know that all hope is not lost, that you may be surprised as to what is out there to help you. I can help you! I maintain comfort, confidence, and success while operating in a real estate, mortgage, and credit climate that demands diligence and up-to-the-moment expertise. I have been afforded the luxury of being able to donate a portion of my profits, as well as the company’s, to local charities. I have engaged in ongoing education through the Department of Real Estate, the San Diego Association of Realtors, the California Association of Realtors, the National Association of Realtors, and have attended local seminars and industry education courses to effect individual growth as both an agent, and a realty owner. I am in the field prospecting and showing properties to my clients on a weekly basis and researching the MLS daily. I am absolutely determined to continue to learn, educate, and work with San Diegans in making their home-buying dreams a reality.
In the summer of 2011, I was recruited by the Emmy and Telly Award winning Electrum Production to audition as TV Show Host of a new San Diego-based real estate TV and Web program. Shortly thereafter, I was formally made “TV Show Host” of The Realty Insiders. I created the concept of what has became a popular segment of the show, called “The Comps Crew,” in which I sit down with a panel of local real estate experts to discuss the impact of comparable sales data on the evolving Housing market. It was not long before I became the Business Development Director, and Managing Partner of Electrum Production. I have brought my many industry connections into the fold of The Realty Insiders, and in turn have gone on to expand my personal real estate network by leaps and bounds in pursuit of new sponsors, contributors, and guest panelists.
I am active and invested in the Del Mar community, coaching Boys Youth Basketball at the San Dieguito Boys & Girls Club over the past 6 years. I have in that time served as Men’s Varsity Head Basketball Coach at the San Diego Jewish Academy(2017-2019), and thereafter as Varsity Assistant and Freshman Head Coach at Canyon Crest Academy(2019-present), voted the #1 public high school in California by Niche.
I pride myself on my ethics, where I came from, my Midwest sensibilities and small town roots and values. My father was a police officer before going on to law school, and ultimately being elected and re-elected as State’s Attorney back home in Illinois. He is now a sitting Circuit Court judge. I followed in the footsteps of both grandfathers, as Business Owner, and employer. My grandfather Bruno P. Bernabei was a respected attorney, business owner, and philanthropist, who ran for a State Senate seat in 1954, and served as a Commissioner of the Illinois Court of Claims for twenty years. At his funeral ceremony, he was eulogized as a “renaissance man” for his many accomplishments, large and small, in helping others in the community. I have been blessed to have these great men come before me, as guiding lights in my life, and work every day to pass this legacy down to my fifteen-year-old son, and five year-old-daughter. I have moved forward in my business practices with this legacy in mind, and each and every satisfied client is a testament to that high standard. I look forward to working with you to meet your goals.”
Best regards,
